Sam’s Club Senior Discount
Sam’s Club offers seniors $30 off of Club memberships or $50 off of Plus memberships, bringing the respective costs down to $20 and $60. To qualify, you must be 55 and older and a new member, meaning you haven’t had an active membership in the past six months.
What is the difference between a Club and Plus membership? Although the Plus membership costs $40 more than the Club membership even with the discount, it could pay for itself with additional discounts and cash-back opportunities.

To get the Club membership offer for seniors, verify your identity through the ID.me website linked on the Sam’s Club website. This process works the same way for the Plus membership, as well as for the military discount detailed below.
Sam’s Club Military Discount
The Sam’s Club military discount is an ongoing discount offered to members of the military and their spouses. Eligible military members, veterans, and their spouses can get 60 percent off a Club membership, bringing the membership cost down to $20. The other option is to join as a Plus member for only $60 total, plus $10 off an in-club purchase when you renew your membership.
People who qualify for the military membership at Sam’s Club include:
- Active military personnel
- Retired military personnel and veterans
- Civilian military employees
- Military spouses
To redeem this offer, you can join or renew your Sam’s Club membership for $45 or enroll as a Sam’s Plus Member for $100. You can ask a Sam’s club associate about membership or join online at the Sam’s Club website.
To be eligible for the military discount, you will need to show the following proof of United States military service:
- Active military ID, issued by the Department of Defense
- Retired military ID, issued by the Department of Defense
- Copy of DD214, along with a valid photo ID
- Veterans identification card
- Membership card from a military service organization (e.g. American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, or Disabled American Veterans), along with a valid photo ID
- Common access card
- Veterans Affairs medical benefits card
The military discount offer can only be redeemed in-club within 60 days of creating or renewing your Sam’s Club membership. It expires on January 31, 2023.

Sam’s Club offers Plus members only early shopping hours from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturdays. There are no special early shopping hours for Plus members on Sundays. The concierge shopping service for seniors is no longer available.
