AARP offers discounts at over 20 chain restaurants, plus more restaurants near you. Most discounts are 10 percent, although they could be as high as 20 percent at some chain restaurants like Papa John’s, or up to 25 percent at local restaurants.

Auntie Anne’s AARP Discount

AARP members can get 10 percent off any in-store, online, or in-app orders from participating Auntie Anne’s. To join, create or sign into your Auntie Anne’s rewards account and enter your AARP membership number.

Bonefish Grill AARP Discount

You can save 10 percent on food and nonalcoholic beverages at Bonefish Grill. However, while you can use this discount for meals in the restaurant as well as curbside carryout orders, you can’t use it for delivery or catering. To get the discount, give the waiter your AARP membership card along with your payment method, or, while ordering pickup, say you have an AARP membership and give your number over the phone.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill AARP Discount

Similarly, you can save 10 percent at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, but only on food and nonalcoholic beverages. Additionally, you can only apply the discount for dine-in meals or curbside pickup, not delivery or catering. Present your AARP card with your check or give your number over the phone to get this discount.

Cinnabon AARP Discount

Join Cinnabon Rewards and enter your AARP membership number to get 10 percent off any type of order from participating Cinnabon stores. This discount applies to in-app, online, or in-person purchases.

Denny’s AARP Discount

Denny’s offers AARP members 15 percent off any breakfast items or diner classics, for up to $10 off your order. Give your AARP membership card at checkout, or mention it over the phone for pickup orders.

Jamba AARP Discount

Enter your AARP membership number on your Jamba Rewards account to save 10 percent at participating Jamba stores. You can use this discount on in-store, online, and in-app orders.

Get 10 percent off orders from McAlister’s Deli by entering your AARP membership number in your McAlister’s Rewards account. This discount will apply to any purchases you make in the app, on the website, or in person. However, not all locations participate in this discount.

Moe’s Southwest Grill AARP Discount

You can save 10 percent by linking your AARP membership with your Moe Rewards account. This discount applies to any orders placed online, in the app, or in person at participating locations.

Outback Steakhouse AARP Discount

AARP members can save 10 percent at Outback Steakhouse by presenting their cards with their checks, or over the phone for pickup orders. This discount only applies to food and nonalcoholic beverages. Not every location offers curbside carryout, and this discount doesn't apply to catering or delivery orders.

Papa John’s AARP Discount

Papa John’s has the highest AARP discount we’ve seen: 20 percent off online orders. However, this discount only applies to menu items and not delivery fees. To access the coupon, log in to your AARP account.

Schlotzsky’s AARP Discount

You can get 10 percent off any order from Schlotzsky’s at participating locations, or orders placed online or in the app. Add your AARP membership number to your Schlotzsky’s Rewards account to participate.

Is an AARP Membership Worth It?

An AARP membership is worth it for the restaurant discount alone. Let’s take that BLS datapoint, the fact that the average American spends $3,639 on food out of the home each year. The most common restaurant discount from AARP is 10 percent, although they could be higher. But being conservative, we can conclude that an AARP membership, which costs only $12 for the first year, can save you about $364 at restaurants alone, paying for itself more than 30 times over. Not to mention the other AARP discounts, like discounts on hotels, rental cars, travel, and other categories. The AARP discount will pay for itself many times over if you take advantage of your membership.
