Home Helpers services include personal care, companion care, stroke recovery care, wellness calls, medical device monitoring, live-in care, respite care, and specialized services for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

• 24/7 care: If needed, caregivers can reside in your home and provide additional assistance throughout the day. Home Helpers can also provide 24-hour shift care, in which you will see multiple caregivers throughout the day without any gaps in care. Or if you want 24/7 care virtually, Home Helpers can provide monitoring through a medical alert device called Direct Link.
• Nutrition and well-being: Home Helpers caregivers are committed to making sure you follow a healthy, balanced diet. In addition to providing companionship, they can prepare nutritious meals.
• Wellness calls: Caregivers provide additional companionship through daily or weekly wellness calls. This accountability service is great for checking in on your health and wellness.
• Support for stroke recovery: Caregivers from Home Helpers can offer support if you’re recovering from a stroke. By creating a personalized care plan, they help you reach ideal recovery outcomes.
• Other specialized care: Home Helpers can also support people with memory impairments such as dementia, people in hospice, and people who just got out of surgery, among other medical issues. But again, the company only provides nonmedical care.
• Respite care: Respite care can fill in the gaps when a family caregiver has other matters to attend to, which can be a great solution to caregiver burnout.

• Home Helpers services cost between $25 and $42 per hour. The cost varies by location, day of the week, and client needs, although each location has their own pricing.
• Most locations require minimum shift lengths of four hours.
• All caregivers are thoroughly background checked.
• Home Helpers tries to keep you with the same caregiver, but it’s not always possible, particularly if you have only one or two visits per week.

Overall, we were pleased with the service and care we received from Home Helpers. The company’s call agents were friendly and knowledgeable, assuring us they could quickly dispatch a caregiver after an initial in-home visit.

Cost and Pricing

Each Home Helpers location is independently owned and operated, so pricing will vary based on location and the level of care needed. Our clients in Boca Raton, Florida, for example, have paid $25 to $28 an hour for basic home care like meal prep and driving clients to appointments. People that required more intense care, such as assistance with bathing and grooming, paid $27 to $34 an hour. This location prefers that clients book shifts of at least four hours, with at least 12 hours booked per week, though they are open to accommodating various schedules. Given that the median cost of home health aides in Florida is $30, according to Genworth, Home Helpers might be cheaper than average.

Another location in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, requires six-hour–per-shift minimums, the longest we’ve seen. The weekday hourly rate was $34, while the weekend rate was $36, which are both higher than the state average of $31.

Finally, our clients in Scottsdale, Arizona, paid $36 to $42 an hour with a four-hour–per-shift minimum. The cost of care depends on both the client’s location and their needs. This is a pretty typical price range for Arizona, which has a median cost of $36 per hour.
