Which Medicare Supplement Plans Does Humana Offer?
For Medicare-eligible individuals, Humana offers a range of Medigap plans. Not all plans are offered in every state, and premiums vary based on location and age. Humana also offers two versions of every Medigap policy it sells:
- Humana Medicare Supplement Value Plans: The more basic of Humana’s offerings, this type of plan gives you the typical Medigap benefits in addition to a membership to SilverSneakers, a wellness program that includes gym memberships and other benefits.

How to Enroll in a Humana Medigap Plan
The first step in applying for a Humana Medigap Plan is to visit Humana’s Medicare Supplement Plans website. The site is easy to navigate, and I was able to view a breakdown of the plans by following a few simple steps.
First, it asks for your ZIP code. The site then directs you to a page asking for additional information: gender, date of birth, Medicare Part A and B coverage, and the intended start date for Medigap coverage. Clicking the Compare Rates button will bring you to a page listing every Medigap plan available in your state, including specific coverage and monthly premiums.
The Humana site has a nice feature that allows you to compare up to three plans. Selecting the plans will take you to a page laying them out side by side in an intuitive, easy-to-understand way.
To enroll in one of these Medigap Plans, licensed agents are available by phone from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The Humana website also has a chat feature for tech-savvy individuals to request additional information.
Alternatives to Humana Medigap Plans
Humana offers solid coverage and a great online experience, but we have a few other favorite Medigap providers. Providers such as Aetna offer nationwide coverage, and broad insurance companies such as State Farm allow you to bundle Medigap with other types of insurance. If you’re shopping around for Medigap providers, here are some other options to consider:
- Cigna: Cigna serves customers in over 30 countries, and offers a range of services including health, dental, and Medigap Plans F, high-deductible F, G, N, and A. Premiums are lower with high-deductible plans, and Cigna offers discounts if more than one person in a household is enrolled.
- Aetna: Aetna offers a wide range of coverage to its more than 39 million customers worldwide. It has Medigap Plans A, B, C, N, G, and F, with some high-deductible options available. Aetna has a user-friendly website and a free Aetna Health App to track policies and manage accounts.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield: Blue Cross Blue Shield offers Medigap Plans A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N. Unlike some other providers, Blue Cross Blue Shield has what it calls a Select option on some plans that offers a lower premium but requires members to use doctors in a specific network.
- UnitedHealthcare: UnitedHealthcare offers a wide range of Medigap Plans: A, B, C, F, G, K, L, and N. It is partnered with AARP for Medigap services, but plans can be purchased through UnitedHealthcare directly.

Bottom Line
With an impressive range of plans, coverage in every state, and a boatload of extra perks for subscribers, Humana is a great choice for Medigap insurance. It may not offer the most affordable premiums, but the added benefits and solid coverage can likely make up the difference.
